Mikayla joined Nebraska Children as AVP of Medical Pathways in June 2023. Mikayla previously worked at DHHS/Division of Children and Family Services for over 10 years. Mikayla spent time as a CFS Specialist (Caseworker) and then at Central Office as a Program Specialist. She led the implementation of Alternative Response through its pilot and journey to becoming a permanent program in November 2020. Mikayla also took on the responsibility for the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA) requiring Plans of Safe Care be completed for all infants born affected by prenatal substance exposure. She assisted in the implementation of Prenatal Plans of Safe Care Binders in Hastings (Adams County) and North Platte (Lincoln County). Mikayla will continue her work with Prenatal Plans of Safe Care at Nebraska Children along with additional medical pathway work.  

Mikayla resides in Hickman, Nebraska with her husband and two children. She enjoys attending her children’s activities, being a member of the Norris PTO, and volunteering at the Hickman Reading Center, providing Preschool Story Time.
