Katrina Hurley
Katrina has joined Nebraska Children as an Assistant VP of Early Childhood and comes to us with more than 10 years experience in early childhood education as an educator and a child care center director. During these years, Katrina focused on providing quality early childhood education for Seward and North Lincoln. She initiated family engagement opportunities and hosted parent advisory meetings on how to improve the center’s quality of care and education in all aspects. She focused on the importance of parental involvement in all aspects of early childhood education, including educating parents on the extreme significance of quality early childhood education. Katrina has her degree in History and Legal Studies from Chadron State College. While being one of the oldest of 12 siblings, it instilled in her the importance of quality early childhood programs for all children. After realizing her passion for early childhood education, Katrina pursued furthering her education in best practices for quality early childhood education including over 80 hours of continuing education courses per year and taking the CDA. She has a passion for improving early childhood opportunities for all Nebraska families. She is excited to be apart of a growing organization that impacts all of Nebraska’s children from birth to age 5.
