4401 Dakota Avenue - South Sioux City

Please come to our April 12th Dakota County Connections (DCC) meeting, it will be an outstanding opportunity to show the collaborative spirit in our community. We need you there!

Dakota County Connections believes that a strong community partnership is the key to safe, healthy, and successful lives for ALL people in Dakota County. That’s why DCC is committed to raising awareness, improving access to resources, and building relationships – and it needs your help.

Dakota County Connections is a partner in the new Bring Up Nebraska statewide prevention initiative. Join us – with special guests Nebraska’s First Lady Susanne Shore and Commissioner Jerry Milner of the Administration on Children, Youth, and Families – to learn more about Nebraska’s need for prevention, the importance of community-led efforts, and how we can all play a role in making our state a better place for families.

What role can business leaders play?
At first, the idea of businesses playing a role in raising healthy, stable children seems counterintuitive. But when you consider that many working adults spend the majority of their waking hours at their place of employment, it becomes clear that employers have a powerful impact on the quality of life of their employees. And employees with healthy, stable homes have fewer sick days and are more productive at work. As a business owner or manager, you have a lot of say in whether your practices positively influence the family lives of your employees.
