For a mother like Alesia, prevention was life changing. A single mother of 3 young children, she found herself homeless after leaving a relationship. She had big goals for herself and her family, but poverty meant living in a constant state of stress and fear. She was connected to the local community collaborative where she was able to problem solve and get access to resources to help her finish her education, find affordable and safe housing, but just as importantly, find encouraging relationships so she didn’t feel alone. Alesia had to do the hard work, but having a support network made all the difference.
