Mary Balluff
Mary Balluff, MS RD, is a community consultant, facilitates meetings, coordinates project partnerships, and conducts focus groups with community organizations. Mary served as the Chief of Community Health and Nutrition Services at the Douglas County Health Department (DCHD) in Omaha, Nebraska, which included the Women Infant and Children (WIC), clinic services, health promotion, and three Centers for Disease Control grants: Communities Putting Prevention to Work, Community Transformation, and the Fostering Healthy Community Design (HIA). She graduated from Iowa State University in Foods and Nutrition and completed a dietetic internship at the University of Indiana in Indianapolis. She worked as a clinical dietitian at Clarkson Hospital and as a pediatric dietitian and the Assistant Director of the Dietetic Internship program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). She received a Master’s of Science Degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Mary received the Jim Dills Distinguished Service Award from the Public Health Association of Nebraska, the Robert D Sparks Award in Public Health and Preventive Medicine, the WCA’s Tribute to Women Award, and City Match’s Ed Ehlinger Service Award. She has recently served on the following boards: Food Bank for the Heartland Board Chair, Nebraska Early Childhood Collaborative, GOALs (Greater Omaha Attendance and Learning Service Center) Board, Immanuel Communities Board, as well as their Affordable and Vision Boards.
Mary joins the Nebraska Children board in 2026.
