Tracy Gordon

Tracy Gordon has dedicated nearly her career to advancing early childhood education in Nebraska, currently serving as the Executive Director of Nebraska AEYC and T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood NEBRASKA.

She began her career as a Toddler Teacher and Assistant Director at Children's World Learning Centers in Boulder, Colorado, where she gained hands-on experience working directly with young children and their families. This foundation led her to Family Service in Lincoln, where she progressed from Early Childhood Program Coordinator to Center Director.

She then moved on to serve as Professional Development Coordinator with Lincoln Public Schools. Tracy then transitioned to Nebraska AEYC, first serving as Project Coordinator before ascending to her current role as Executive Director.

Throughout her career, Tracy has been deeply involved in numerous professional initiatives that have shaped early childhood education policy and practice in Nebraska. She has served as Co-Chair of the Community Services Initiative focusing on Child and Youth services, and has been instrumental in developing and revising core competencies for early childhood professionals. Her leadership extends to chairing the Early Childhood Celebration and serving as a facilitator for Early Learning Guidelines revisions.

Tracy has served on the Lincoln AEYC Board of Directors in various capacities including President, and participating in the Lincoln Mayor's Advisory Council for Early Childhood. Her commitment to child welfare is evident through her role as Chair of the Lincoln Prevent Child Abuse Council and her participation in the Alternative Response Coalition Early Childhood Subcommittee.

Her professional network and collaborative spirit shine through her involvement with organizations such as the Nebraska Childcare Center Director's Association, where she has served as Chair, and her partnership with Early Learning Connections/RTP. Tracy has also contributed to the development of coaching standards through her co-chair position with the Nebraska Coach Development Network and her work on the Nebraska Coach Competencies writing team.

Her ongoing commitment to quality improvement is demonstrated through her participation in the Step Up to Quality Criteria Review Team and her facilitation work with Prosper Lincoln and the Lincoln Early Childhood Network.

Tracy's dedication to the field has been recognized through the prestigious Sally Wysong Award, acknowledging her significant contributions to early childhood education in Nebraska.
