April Heimes grew up in Northwest Iowa and moved to Nebraska 14 years ago. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood from South Dakota State University in Brookings. April has worked in a variety of early childhood settings, including as a home visitor and classroom teacher for USD Head Start, in childcare centers, and now as a preschool teacher at Wynot Public Schools. She is an active member of Cedar County Communities for Kids and is helping lead efforts in Wynot to develop an early learning center and advocate for high-quality care for children of all ages.
