Amy Bennett

Amy Bennett is a native of Alabama.  She has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama and Masters of Nonprofit Organizations from Case Western Reserve University’s Mandel School of Applied Social Science.  Amy started her career with what is now the Girl Scouts of Northeast Ohio, serving as membership manager and then the Director of Programs and Training.  In 2011, Amy moved to Grand Island, Nebraska, where she served as the Executive Director of Heartland CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for just over 7 years.  In July of 2018, Amy joined the YWCA of Grand Island as Executive Director.  

Amy has served as board member and board president of the Hall County Community Collaborative, a board member of the Nebraska CASA Association, a member of the Pastoral Nominating Committee for First Presbyterian Church of Grand Island, and a former volunteer for Grand Island Teammates.  Amy is a graduate of Leadership Tomorrow Class 27, First Five Nebraska Policy Leadership Cohort #4, and of the Nebraska Lobby School Cohort #3.   Currently, Amy serves is a member of the Grand Island HELP Initiative Leadership Team, a member of the Nebraska Civic Engagement Table Membership Committee, serves as President of Gates Elementary PTA, is a Brownie Girl Scout troop leader, and is a member of the Human Resources Committee for First Presbyterian Church.   Amy and her husband Matthew have 3 children – Chase (11), Grace (9), and Greta (7) and 2 dog children- Hamilton and Guthrie (both 15).
