 is an evidenced-based set of practices based on beliefs (a “philosophy”) a
 bout families\, children\, and helping relationships. The objectives of PI
 WI are to increase confidence\, competence and positive relationships for 
 parents and children ages 0-2. It does so by keeping the parent-child rela
 tionship at the center and by supporting responsive\, respectful parent-ch
 ild interactions. The primary focus of PIWI is parent-child groups but it 
 may be used in home visitation and other settings. PIWI has been successfu
 lly used in community based Head Start\, early intervention and other sett
 ings with a diverse range of parents and children. PIWI is not a curriculu
 m but PIWI groups do follow a specified schedule which includes an opening
 \, a focal topic for parent child interaction and observation\, a summing 
 up and home activity.\n\nThe Parents Interacting with Infants (PIWI) Train
 ing of Facilitators will allow participants to learn about implementation 
 of the curriculum in \ntheir area. Please join us to receive an overview o
 f the PIWI training materials with implementation examples and guidelines 
 for fidelity and evaluation. During this training\, participants will lear
 n about the PIWI philosophy and goals\, Dyadic and Triadic interactions an
 d strategies\, and Developmental Observation Topics.
