National research has shown that the 6 Protective Factors are the most predictive element in whether families develop unhealthy behaviors. At Nebraska Children, we believe the most effective way to bolster the Protective Factors within families is through communities. By working with communities to capitalize on their strengths, fill gaps in services, and offer intentional Protective-Factor building opportunities for families at risk, we're seeing a reduction in substantiated instances of child abuse and neglect. This means fewer home removals, healthier children, and a brighter future for towns across the state.

This video shows how the agencies of the Panhandle Partnership came together in a model collaboration to help families in the region build their own protective factors and to keep children safe, stable and strong.
