Its difficult to see. 10:22:48 From Nikki Roseberry : I know that in some areas the United Way has agreed to be a product distribution hub for supplies 10:23:38 From York County Health Coalition : Thank you. Mary. 10:23:43 From Mary Pinker : Does that make it easier to see? Thanks for letting me know! 10:24:51 From Julie Nash - H3C : We are using the United Way as a drop off location then our Birth-11 subcommittee is working on a delivery plan to get the items to the child care providers as the providers availability during normal office hours is very limited. We have a group of volunteers who have been making other deliveries to the providers (like milk, bread). 10:26:20 From Rachel Meier : Regarding the Emerald Card question: Emerald Cards are an H&R Block related card. Here is there most recent communication about stimulus and Emerald Cards: https://www.hrblock.com/tax-center/filing/credits/stimulus-payment-information/ 10:26:54 From lorilarsen : Zach - is Food Security weekly or biweekly on wednesdays 10:27:47 From TBichlmeier : How can we find out if our local food pantry is a part of the conversation for getting additional resources through the Food Security Task Force? 10:33:07 From Jennifer Skala : Please keep providing us the barriers that people are experiencing with WIC. They have been so helpful. If you want to use the chatbox to share the barriers, please do 10:36:09 From Rachel Meier : If you check and you did not receive the Bring Up Nebraska email yesterday, please send me a direct chat with your email address and I will forward it and get you added. TY 10:36:17 From Caroline Sabin : We had a discussion earlier this morning at the lack of supports for those who are deaf or hard of hearing. 10:37:05 From Lindsey : I have to leave as I need to do an SSF for a young person. In Lancaster Co we are using Your Money, Your Goals with our young adults as well as having budgeting conversations. 10:38:40 From aweaver@nebraskachildren.org : I am becoming increasingly worried about the homeless DD population 10:39:59 From aweaver@nebraskachildren.org : For Project Everlast Omaha it would be 4028753594 and Aaron Weaver for the Spanish speaking folks 10:40:20 From LeaAnn-NCFF Consultant : Kudos to Governor for that. I heard on Fremont COVID Task force this morning that it is helpful to have this in Spanish. 10:40:54 From Heidi Hausmann : If Leonor could take the calls for Norfolk that be so wonderful! Thanks! 10:41:02 From sochoa : For Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska it would be 308-635-3089. We have several staff who speak Spanish. 10:42:48 From TBichlmeier : I have to go, but we have asked our coaches in Platte-Colfax county to discuss the stimulus checks with the families before Support Services are requested and 10:43:05 From sarahvonasek : For Community and Family Partnership Spanish speaking navigation for CR: Colfax County number is 402-615-0884 (Susana), Platte is 402-910-6434 (Bellyni) 10:44:52 From TBichlmeier : Whoops - didn't finish. With request for funds, our on-going process is to discuss budgeting and do a budget with them. 10:46:30 From gay mctate : re Wic- the communities I have heard from have identified 4 barriers to WIC- 1. stores not having the things WIC covers, 2. calls to WIC not being returned, 3.transportation to the stores not available, 4. families not knowing eligibility has been changed 5. food available through WIC not liked. Sarpy, north platte, douglas, dawson, platte- colfax, please add what I did not include 10:47:20 From Elci Warnell : If we could please get more information on how to be connected to participate with "online clubs" and financial education for youth. This sounds amazing! 10:48:16 From sarahvonasek : My apologies — for Community & Family Partnership ONLY use 402-615-0884 (Susana) for our Spanish speaking referrals. 10:49:17 From Emily Kluver : Thanks Gay! I will share with the WIC team. Zach, barrier #1, stores not having the things WIC covers, might be a good topic for the food taskforce?? 10:50:16 From Elci Warnell : WIC barriers: Since grocery pick up is not available for WIC items, limited store hours, and stores limiting children inside its difficult for families who are still working to go in person to the store 10:51:16 From sochoa : I have to sign off for CAPWN. We use Your Money Your Goals as our curriculum. We continue to work with individuals and families in budgeting. 10:51:17 From Zachary Nelson : Yes - that would be a good topic for the task force. I'll make note of that and share the feedback with NEMA. 10:54:24 From Collena : For BVCA/Southeast Nebraska CYI/CR: Many have received their stim checks. Flex funds requests are going up. As a pro-active measure CYI is reaching out to older youth using staff and youth reps doing check-ins and "budget checks". Hoping budget check ins and set ups will help prevent crisis. Spending time discussing rent, utilities, and other needs and ways to address each. CR is just getting started up. Setting up a committee to do outreach to agencies. 10:57:50 From Rachel Meier : Regarding the WIC barriers, has any individual community come up with a solution around delivery/drop off of WIC items? (ex. food drop offs for seniors) 11:00:07 From Sara Riffel : Could stores offer WIC-specific hours that allow shoppers with children and ensure supply is available? Also, another WIC barrier I've heard from folks is that it's too difficult to transport their child(ren) to the store AND transport groceries/supplies from the store with children. We need to develop a delivery system for WIC recipients. 11:00:32 From sarahvonasek : Hello everyone!! From Platte/Colfax: Tammy and I have to jump on another Zoom call. Updates: We are asking coaches to talk about the stimulus checks with the families and talk about budgeting and identifying long term solutions. We are working on a pilot program with NE Extension to partner with local grocery stores to provide food supplies to local food pantries. We are also talking with the Chamber of Commerce to team up with a local bank and Thrivent Financial to do a financial literacy informational video. 11:04:01 From LeaAnn-NCFF Consultant : Sarah.. I understand that Lincoln Premium Poultry will be sending chicken to counties surrounding Dodge Co. They are working with the local food pantries and food banks on this. 11:10:31 From Andrea Curtis : There is a moratorium on evictions due to Covid-19, but rent is still owed and being accumulated during this time. Helping people understand that is important. 11:12:10 From Carrie Rouillard : Thank you for the updates but I'll be signing off 11:17:14 From LeaAnn-NCFF Consultant : Thank You Faith. 11:17:43 From Schalisha Walker : Thank you for saying that! 11:17:58 From Sandy Nation : Thanks for the reminder, Faith. 11:19:16 From Rachel Meier : The Eviction Moratorium issued by the Governor is a temporary residential eviction relief. Tenants have to show documentation or evidence that they have suffered a loss of income or job loss or reduction and more. It has to be COVID-19 related and unpaid rent has to have started after March 13. The eviction moratorium expires May 31, 2020. unless further extended 11:19:18 From Heather Hansen : Thank you!
