Email:leonorfuhrer@gmail.com or Phone:(402) 649-3208 00:29:36 Denise Zwiener: I jumped in late and missed the First Lady's report, wanted to share that Buffalo County is working with Mother Board to host our first 'computer recycle event' on September 8 in the Chamber parking lot. We identified a challenge in getting the number of laptops we needed for our community, so we thought we would work to get more stock available for Mother Board. Thank you all for getting us all connected to these amazing resources. 00:32:14 Tanya Gifford: Thank you everyone for your support. I look forward to continuing the work of Lift Up Sarpy!! 00:33:45 Judi Sickler: Do donors get a receipt for the donation from Motherboard? 00:39:06 Denise Zwiener: Wondering if any other community is offering attorney retainers for those being evicted and a part of the Community Response? 00:39:48 Nebraska Children: nsmith@nebraskachildren.org for the housing task force 00:41:41 Alexandria Labenz: The City of Lincoln Urban Development Department is working with Nebraska Appleseed to get representation in the eviction court here in Lancaster county. there is discussion on how to expand the Nebraska Appleseed efforts in other areas as well 00:41:44 Tanya Gifford: I would be happy to connect 00:44:48 TBichlmeier: Hi - this is Tammy in Platte & Colfax County; does Legal Aid have the ability to contact the local CR service when they have families they are working with to avoid eviction? 00:46:39 Elci Warnell: Hi Tammy, In Sarpy Co we have a rep from Legal Aid who attends our CR meetings and if they have a family that needs resources they obtain a release of information and we can collaborate to help that family. 00:48:51 Carmen Bradley: Another resource Sarpy Co uses is the Fair Housing Center 00:49:03 TBichlmeier: That would be great - we don't have much representation from Legal Aid in our community, so not sure if they would be aware enough of us locally to do a referral. Thanks! Would like to be a part of further conversations. 01:00:36 Pam Reicks: can 01:00:53 Pam Reicks: Would Jeff please share your contact information? 01:01:36 Jeff Cole: jcole@nebraskachildren.org 01:03:00 Deborah Dancer: so good to hear, Diane! 01:03:10 Denise Zwiener: You are a rock star!!!! Thank you sooooo much! 01:03:30 Judi Sickler: Such a huge help for so many! 01:03:49 Julie Nash: Thank you! This is wonderful news!!! 01:07:42 Sandy Nation: So if rent is $1,000.00, that can't be split $500.00 from Community Response CARES Act dollars and $500.00 from NENCAP CARES Act dollars? 01:08:15 Sandy Nation: But it could be split $500 from Community Response COVID dollars and $500 from Community Response CARES Act dollars? 01:10:07 Deborah Dancer: Again, thank you, Diane! Knocking on wood too. 01:10:13 Mary Pinker: Email address to follow up on project specific questions: dHHS.cares@nebraska.gov 01:10:30 Sandy Nation: Thank you! 01:11:39 gay mctate: Thank you everyone- I need to go to another zoom call 01:11:58 Alexandria Labenz: I would just add the reminder that all of the ESG CV cares act money will be recorded into the HMIS system that many of the prevention agencies will have access to. Community Action agencies and several others are already connected and the NHAP office in DHHS as well 01:11:58 Sandy Nation: For the citizenship/legal residence documentation, is that documentation for the applicant only or documentation for all members of the household? 01:13:26 Sandy Nation: If parents are legal immigrants but not residents and the children are citizens, do they qualify? 01:13:42 Nikia Gunn-Abdulai: What if there is a teen parent applying for rental assistance for the household but the lease is in the parents name and the parent is undocumented? 01:13:54 TBichlmeier: Sorry to be slow, but we would need to provide assistance with private $$ and not through CARES Act funding? 01:23:49 Carmen Bradley: I need to jump off to prepare for another meeting. Thank you. 01:24:50 Deborah Dancer: Got it, thanks! 01:25:09 Julie Nash: Great advice Diane! 01:25:15 Sam Gross: Having come from Housing in my past life, (and I don't know if this helps or not), Federal assistance would be prorated for a family if there were undocumented members of a household. Example. Mom and dad are undocumented and have 5 children, only one of those children have a permanent resident card - federal assistance would only be given to that one child that had documented status. Again, don't know if this helps with the discussion or not... 01:25:40 Deborah Dancer: Thanks, Sam. 01:29:38 Alexandria Labenz: Hi Mary, I think it might be really helpful to have Denise Packard from UNL-CCFL and Andrea Curtis NDHHS,NHAP provide a presentation on accessing housing dollars across the state with the current regulations and eligibility criteria. There are a lot of dollars that need to be expended before the end of the year and those two are very knowledgeable on the topic. 01:29:56 Deborah Dancer: Good point, Diane. A good guide is to look for other funding as you previously suggested. Thank you for making sure we have thought all of this through for the sake of families. 01:33:08 Sandy Nation: For housing funds (Section 8), is documentation for ALL members of the household required? 01:34:30 Deborah Dancer: Very helpful! 01:34:36 Sandy Nation: Yes! 01:35:08 Nikia Gunn-Abdulai: yes 01:36:17 Sam Gross: Sandy - Yes, for Section 8 documentation for every family member is required to be provided however not every family member has to be "legal". They can be "non contending". It's common for their documents to be expired. 01:36:46 Sandy Nation: Sam - So assistance would be prorated? 01:36:52 Sam Gross: Correct 01:36:58 Sandy Nation: Thank you! 01:37:32 Sandy Nation: I'll think of 100 more questions after we are done! 01:38:46 Julie Nash: Thank you! 01:38:46 Deborah Dancer: thank you! 01:38:48 Sam Gross: Thank you. Be well! 01:38:51 Leonor Fuhrer: Great work everyone! 01:38:56 Denise Zwiener: Mary for a future agenda could we talk about how other communities are working with those clients in which all resources have been spent and no local resources exist? 01:38:58 Sandy Nation: Have a great weekend! 01:39:08 JoAnn Gieselman Growing Comm Connections: Thank you! 01:39:28 Alyson Goedken: Thanks Mary!
