We have been able to access additional funding through different sources. Our community partners have been great about collaborating to provide whatever is needed. Our coaches have been working really hard to get needs met. 00:27:10 Sandy Nation: Due to the pandemic, Dakota County CR has increased the frequency of meetings. This helps expedite the process for funds and need requests. 00:27:47 Sandy Nation: We have all learned how to roll with the punches! 00:34:58 TBichlmeier: Hi Andrea - I have been told that our Rapid Rehousing program for the Columbus area is currently out of funding. Will grant dollars be received by them soon? 00:35:41 Sandy Nation: Is there a list of which agency provides the Rapid Rehousing program? 00:37:30 Denise Zwiener: Andrea - We identified a need in Buffalo County for brain injury case management. We do not have any organizations currently able to assist those with brain injuries who are homeless. Our only option at this time is hotel/motel vouchers for homeless with an injured brain.. Wondering if other communities have identified this need for case management and if anyone in the state is looking at this type of support. Has the state seen this as an issue 00:37:56 Sandy Nation: Both the regular housing funds and the Covid-19 funds are run through the Rapid Rehousing agency? 00:41:02 Andrea Curtis: Yes, the regular funds and the Covid-19 funding must go through the Coordinated Entry system for Rapid Rehousing. So none of the Rapid Rehousing Agencies have a waitlist. All households are prioritized based on their assessment. 00:43:28 TBichlmeier: Matt - when we get requests from families for utility assistanct at this time, should we then be able to call the utility companies to check to see if the family is on LIHEAP and should be getting this benefit? 00:48:27 Andrea Curtis: @denise The State has seen a need for better access to housing for all individuals with disabilities. DHHS has a taskforce to problem solve this issue. I'd like to hear more about the issue from you. Please feel free to email me andrea.curtis@nebraska.gov. NHAP also funds the SOAR case managers, who provide assistance to individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness, and are not able to work at a certain level due to a qualifying disability apply for SSI/SSDI. 00:53:21 TBichlmeier: yes 00:54:45 gay mctate: next meeting of the Support for youth and family group is thursday july 30th 8:30-10 please let me know if you would like to receive the zoom link 00:54:58 gay mctate: gmctate@cox.net 00:56:50 TBichlmeier: Thank you! 01:11:35 Carmen Bradley: please send Youth Leadership information cbradley@encapomaha.org 01:13:37 Lincoln Arneal: You can also email me at larneal@nebraskachildren.org with questions about youth leadership chapters 01:13:55 Carmen Bradley: Thank you 01:14:10 Brittney She/Her/Hers: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/S3GZXXL 01:14:50 Rachael Surmick: Will you be emailing out a copy of this flyer with the notes/after the meeting? 01:15:16 Rachael Surmick: Thank you! 01:16:01 TBichlmeier: I presume this is appropriate for juvenile services providers as well? 01:18:11 Sara Riffel (NCFF): Yes, we will email the flyer and link with the meeting notes. Brittney also posted the registration link for the microaggression workshop in the chat. 01:19:13 Daniele Hession: the micro aggression link is 4 questions you answer it appears and that automatically signs you up for the training? 01:20:33 Sara Riffel (NCFF): Daniele - yes, that is correct. You will then receive a Zoom link to the workshop prior to the date of the event. 01:21:06 Sandy Nation: I have a client who is on partial disability. She is a teacher but can't teach at all due to being at high-risk. If she had a laptop, she would be able to teach classes online. Is there anyone who might be able to provide one? 01:22:03 Will Meinen: If you're interested in what Susanne talked about our committee meeting is 3:30 on every other Thursday. Thank you so much for all the support you provide! 01:34:39 Kelsey Tourek: Just a reminder to community coordinators/CNs: UNMC is finishing the data inserts for the CWB 12 month report. If you have sent your report to your UNMC evaluation point of contact, they will be inserting the data into your report (along with the summaries of the focus groups from June) and will be returning the reports to coordinators by end of day tomorrow. Thank you all! 01:35:13 Rachael Surmick: Our coaches are working with parents to do mask training with their children to ease the transition when school reopens here in a few weeks 01:36:47 Rachael Surmick: Have to hop to another meeting, but did want to share that in response to last on last question before hopping off 01:37:17 Mary Pinker: Thanks Rachael, this is great! 01:37:41 Deborah Dancer: Douglas County Community Response (DCCR) is gearing up for a site visit from multiple states (virtually) and will work with multiple community collaborations within several sectors to promote child and family well-being. Tomorrow, we will host our quarterly collaborative meeting. I have to hop off. Have a great weekend. 01:38:46 Sandy Nation: Our Collaborative worked with Nebraska Ethanol to provide hand sanitizer to local non-profits and the schools. We have also been working with the schools to provide food boxes to families and individuals in need. 01:40:16 Carmen Bradley: Thank you again for all the information and resources. I need to prepare for another meeting. Have a great day! 01:40:51 Denise Zwiener: Introduction Questions - Overall we seem to be getting more stable with our food insecurity efforts and starting to focus more on systems work around housing. An emergency housing task force has defined a list of housing issues we are currently facing and we plan to get that list to Nathan to help us align with other supports and ideas across the state. We are working on our CYI application and seeing some new exciting innovative ideas in the community to support youth, etc. Our food insecurity pieces are getting more stable with Cash Wa receiving the Farm to Table USDA contract. We have volunteers assisting two days a week to process individual food boxes for North and South Dakota and Nebraska. Great to see so many community members and organizations coming together to help those across North Central US. We are in conversations with the Health Department to look into an effort to get standard COVID-19 education information out to the community. Our COVID-19 numbers are increasing in Buffalo County. 01:40:59 Anne Hindery: good conversation thank you 01:41:27 gay mctate: some of the youth serving agencies in douglas county like girls, inc and others are working with the schools to see how they can help with serving those children on those days they can’t be in school- we are gathering more details and will share them as we learn more and see how Douglas county CR can be helpful 01:42:44 Lea Ann Johnson: I have heard from School Leaders the need for support for school personnel who are possibly fearful about returning. Remember the care giver/educators in the reopening process as well. This can also include our states childcare providers. 01:45:18 gay mctate: Region 6 is offering some supports for educators - with zoom sessions- don’t know if the other other regions are offering this 01:45:55 Cathy Minnick: Thank you for all of the wonderful updates, resources and information. I appreciate the constant support and conversations! I have to hop off and take another call. Something that has popped up for us recently is that we have had many requests recently for thermometers as schools and businesses make plans to reopen. We are working on a plan to help with this. If anyone has any resources for these, could you please let me know: cminnick@central-plains.org. I know that some have been provided, just getting requests from those other than daycare providers. 01:46:04 Rachel Kinney: Will do! 01:47:23 Lea Ann Johnson: I think this is a great discussion and opportunity to build partnerships with education. 01:47:32 Sandy Nation: Thank you! 01:48:16 TBichlmeier: Thanks! Have a great day! 01:48:17 JoAnn Gieselman Growing Comm Connections: Thank you so much these are such great meeting!!
