Cassy comes to Nebraska Children with a diverse background of experience, including residential and occupational support to adults with developmental disabilities, national Positive Youth Development consulting, and clinical work with youth, eating disorders, and addiction. Cassy joined our team for the first time in June 2006, as a program assistant. After a short hiatus with Special Olympics in Washington, DC, she came back to Nebraska Children in October 2007. Since then, she has served in a number of capacities, all focused on expanding youth voice and engagement at all levels. With her experience coaching college level speech, Cassy has facilitated the development of a Project Everlast Speakers Bureau and supported statewide youth leadership through the Governor’s Youth Advisory Council and Project Everlast Leadership Team. Her current work involves collaborating with state partners, boards/committees, and policy-makers in ensuring policies are responsive to the needs and experiences of young people. Cassy completed her BA in Psychology and Sociology in 2008 and MA in Counseling in 2013, both from Doane College.
