Amy Bornemeier, Associate Vice President of Early Childhood Programs
As the Sixpence Administrator, Amy provides technical assistance to the grantees and their community partners, and works closely with the Board of Trustees. Amy brings a wealth of experience, education and insight to the position. Prior to coming to Nebraska Children, Amy worked with the Office of Early Childhood at the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) on a variety of projects with a special emphasis on school readiness. In addition to her work with a wide range of early childhood-focused teams and work groups, Amy assisted many communities in developing their school readiness and transition plans, and led a team to revise the Nebraska Early Learning Guidelines for 3 to 5 Year Olds. Prior to her time at NDE, Amy managed multiple nationally-accredited early childhood programs, implementing the pyramid model for supporting social-emotional development.
In private life, Amy is the mother of two daughters - Lou and Mia.
